Reviews from the workshop

Brought in my grandmother's Omega that hadn't run properly in years. Hafiz took the time to explain the condition of the movement in terms I could actually follow. The written scope was reassuring — I knew exactly what was going to happen and what it would cost before any work started. The restoration took about eight weeks. It runs perfectly now and looks as it should.

Came in for a pressure check before diving, which was sensible advice from a friend. The result sheet was a nice touch — I have something to refer back to. The check itself was done in a day and I collected the next morning. The staff were unhurried about explaining the result, which I appreciated. The workshop is a bit hard to spot from the street but worth finding.

Had the crystal replaced on a Seiko I wear regularly. I had been putting it off because I wasn't sure what was involved. Nadia explained it clearly and had it done in three days. The new crystal sits flush and the gasket was renewed at the same time. The bill matched exactly what was discussed before the work started. I will go back without hesitation.

My father's Longines had been in a drawer for twenty-two years. I was nervous about leaving it somewhere unfamiliar. Syafiq took a long time with me on the first visit, asking questions about what the watch had meant to my father rather than just assessing it technically. That approach made a difference. The restoration took about three months. The updates at each stage were prompt and clear.

Went in for a pressure check before a trip to Langkawi. The watch passed but the team pointed out that the crystal had a hairline scratch on the inside face. They gave me a separate quote for replacing it, which I declined at the time but will get done later. Happy that they mentioned it rather than just saying everything was fine and sending me on my way. That level of honesty is not common.

I had two crystal replacements done on the same visit — a dress watch and an older field watch with a different case profile. Both were handled correctly for their respective case types, which is apparently not always guaranteed elsewhere. Two different die sizes used, not a workaround. Both ready within four days. Would refer anyone without hesitation.

A few longer accounts
A sapphire crystal replaced on a dress watch after a chip
The situation
A small chip on the edge of the sapphire crystal of a Tissot dress watch. The crystal was still intact but the chip was visible and the owner was concerned about crack propagation. The watch was otherwise in good condition.
The work done
A size-matched sapphire replacement was sourced. The dial side was cleaned under loupe before fitting. The crystal was pressed using the correct die for the case diameter. The gasket was renewed and a pressure check was performed after fitting to confirm the seal.
The outcome
Watch collected on day four. Crystal sits flush, pressure check passed. Total cost: RM 520. The owner noted that the price matched the quote and that the dial appeared cleaner than before — the courtesy clean had made a visible difference.
"They quoted it clearly and it came in exactly at that figure. The dial side clean was a thoughtful touch I hadn't asked for."

A vintage Rolex returned to working condition after forty years at rest
The situation
A 1974 Rolex Air-King that had belonged to the client's uncle. Dormant for approximately forty years. The movement required a full strip and service. Several seals were degraded. One crown tube was damaged and needed sourcing.
The work done
Full movement service and cleaning. All gaskets and seals replaced. Crown tube sourced — an NOS part was located after three weeks of searching; the client was kept informed throughout the search. Water resistance restored and tested. Timeline: fourteen weeks from consultation to collection.
The outcome
Watch collected and running within specification. The owner opted to keep the original dial patina rather than have it refinished, which was noted in the scope from the start. Final cost: RM 6,200, within the stated range of RM 5,800–RM 6,500. The result sheet and parts log were handed to the owner on collection.
"Hafiz called me when the NOS crown tube was found. He didn't just go ahead and order it — he explained what NOS meant, showed me photos, and waited for my decision. That careful approach was exactly what the watch deserved."
— Ariff Razali, Kuala Lumpur
